Zuma and ASAL join the Michelin-starred La Gaia restaurant at the Ibiza Gran Hotel –

This summer, La Gaia d’Óscar Molina celebrates its Michelin star with two fresh menus. It will also be joined by two new restaurants, Zuma and ASAL, and a new night spot, Club Chinois, within the Ibiza Gran Hotel.

Island Hospitality’s award-winning contemporary Japanese dining concept, Zuma, incorporates the informal izakaya style. Zuma will be located on the sunny terrace of the Ibiza Gran Hotel, with incredible views of the marina and the island’s emblematic old town.

The brand’s favourites, the sesame-spiced beef tenderloin; Black cod marinated in Miso; yuzu tiger prawns; and Grilled Seabass with Chili and Ginger, will feature on the menu, alongside contemporary cocktails and premium sakes, complementing the Japanese flavors of the dishes. And a resident DJ will provide late-night tunes in the restaurant’s bar. Creator and co-founder Rainer Becker said of the launch:

“We are delighted to bring Zuma to Ibiza for the first time, in partnership with Island Hospitality. This year’s pop-up is incredibly exciting for all of us. We are proud to sit alongside the Ibiza Gran Hotel as we share the same values of unquestionable quality and attention to detail.

Framed by natural light and organic materials and taking the form of a white grotto flanked by Gaudian shapes that resemble the nearby reef, ASAL was designed by renowned architect and interior designer, David Alayeto. Its three spaces offer a Pitiusan panorama and include the Garden Terrace, the Chef’s Saloon and the DJ Lounge with its cocktail bar. Chef Mario Sandoval – who holds two Michelin stars, a Michelin green star and Tres Soles Repsol – is at the helm, focusing on Spanish flavors and produce.

Chinese club

The team behind London’s Chinese Park recreates its grand Asian style, inspired by the decadent but iniquitous jazz clubs of 1930s Shanghai. Combining old-world hospitality and contemporary world-class entertainment, it will span 3,000m², with interiors by award-winning Parisian design studio, Laleh Assefi. Guests can expect the elegance of Chinoiserie that replicates an era of grace and old-world charm. Vibrant, sensory and a tad hedonistic, the Chinese Club will welcome international talents such as DJs, headliners and artists for a high quality immersive experience.

Tanit and Posidonia

The hotel’s flagship restaurant, La Gaia, will also see a new launch, in the form of a gastronomic series celebrating Executive Chef Óscar Molina’s first MICHELIN star. As the first and only hotel on the island to achieve such a distinction. There will be two tasting menus, Tanit and 14-course Posidonia, which includes a three-course series dedicated to the island’s traditional matançes festival, in which every part of the family pig is transformed into a sumptuous feast.
