Zoka offers Japanese-inspired takeout at Clarendon Park

There’s a new gourmet addition to Clarendon Park as Zoka, a new Japanese-inspired takeout, is about to open on Queens Road in Leicester.

To celebrate the opening, they are offering all customers 50% off food ordered on launch day, Tuesday, November 30.

Zoka is started by the team behind Wicked Burger on Queens Road. They’ve built a separate kitchen upstairs to accommodate the new kitchen, and the dishes will be available through Deliveroo and UberEats, or by ordering in store at Wicked to take with you.

They describe Zoka as “Japanese-inspired health bowls”. Dishes are served on a bed of sticky rice, which can replace forbidden rice (nutrient-rich black rice) or ancient grains (quinoa and couscous mixed together), with a range of different toppings and sauces available. Choose from Gunpowder Bowl, Donburi Bowl, Zen Bowl, Buddha Bowl, or Golden Dragon Bowl, with flavors ranging from Japanese teriyaki to creamy coconut and peanut butter.

All the sauces are homemade and the toppings include chicken, beef, salmon, king prawns, tofu, roasted squash, eggplant umami and more.

The owners say Zoka was developed to create a community focused on personal health, wellness, and connection. The menu focuses on nutrient-dense and balanced meals, while drawing inspiration from different cultures.

The progressive launch tasting menu is available below, with more dishes to be added in the coming weeks.

Zoka will be based at 70 Queens Road and you can follow them on Instagram @eatzoka for more information.
