One hotel in London offers stays in its hotel for just £ 14.40 a night, with free breakfast – but the rooms themselves are no bigger than a bed.
The London Bridge Hotel cuts costs by creating capsule beds which are used to maximize space and accommodate more people in a “capsule room”.
The St Christopher’s Inn chain of London Bridge has taken inspiration from the rise of capsule beds in hostels in China, Japan and Singapore to generate buzz in the capital.

The capsules come with free breakfast and at £ 14.40 for an overnight stay you might be tempted to book.
Inside the capsules are sockets, a bed – a little over the size of a single bed, and even a trendy multi-colored lighting system.
One woman who stayed in the capsules quickly dispelled the fear that they were claustrophobic, she said, “The capsule-style beds were very comfortable and not at all claustrophobic.
“You can sit upright in it, charge your phone, and dim the lights in any color you want. “

Another impressed traveler said: “They are very well laid out with outlets, USB ports and a nice light with a range of colors. The bedding is also very comfortable.
The main criticism concerned the heat inside the capsules. Some reviewers felt the capsules were too hot and because they were closed there was no proper ventilation.
St Christopher’s capsule hotel is the first in the UK and few others have bought into the idea. For now, the capsules offer a cheap alternative to normally expensive hotels in London and a perfect place for thrifty travelers.
