An upscale French-American restaurant opens Thursday on the site of the historic former Statler Hotel in Detroit.
The Statler Bistro and Market is located on the corner of Washington Blvd. and W. Grand River Ave., at 313 Park Ave., Detroit, on the first floor of the new City Club Apartments.
The spot includes an upscale 165-seat restaurant with a 125-seat patio. It also includes a neighborhood market, slated to open in the coming weeks, where customers can purchase groceries and packaged meals, as well as a cafe.
The menu is created by chef Daniel Scannell and Jim Oppat, executive chef of the Joe Vicari Restaurant group.
The restaurant is the 22nd in the Warren-based Joe Vicari restaurant group, which also operates restaurants like Andiamo and Joe Muer Seafood.
“A great French city deserves a fabulous French bistro and market,” said Jonathan Holtzman, president of City Club Apartments, in a statement. “Joe and his team have delivered too much of the menu, environment and service that will quickly make The Statler the best restaurant in Detroit for doing business, entertaining, and creating moments and memories.”
The Statler Bistro will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday and from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday to Saturday.
It also hires bartenders, waiters and kitchen staff. More information is available at statlerdetroit.com.
