OPENINGS:
To look for anchor roots to open their second juice bar inside the Grove in Winter Park plaza on Aloma Avenue and Howell Branch Road on June 9…Disney announced that the space themed restaurant they projected Epcot to open by the end of the year. The menu will feature “internationally inspired cuisine” and “more than 1,000 bottles of the world’s finest wines”. The countdown is on…Also at Epcot, look for an upscale full-service restaurant Takumi Tei to open in the Japan Pavilion this summer… Bar openings to report: The solarium will open next to its sister bar on Guest House any day now, and Wally’s Mills Avenue liquors will have its grand reopening in mid-June… Easy Steak, the food truck parked at At LaCart, will open a brick and mortar location called Orlando Steak inside Oviedo food factory food hall at the beginning of next year… After a few hiccups, Todo Sushi finally opened in the Rendering complex at the corner of 17-92 and Lee Road in Winter Park.

CLOSURES: Tre Bambine, Orlando’s first baccaro, closed just two months after opening in the former Spice Modern Steakhouse space on East Central. We barely knew you.

NEWS: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams will roll into town for another summer truck tour with free ice cream. Stops are scheduled for the Rifle Paper Co. store at 588 W. New England Ave. at Winter Park on May 24 and 25 from noon to 5 p.m. and the Publix at Southside Market on May 25 from 3 to 5 p.m.

EVENTS:
Morimoto Asia wraps up its Whiskey Week festivities with a Buffalo Trace Omakase – a five-course “tasting event” featuring rare whiskey and Pan-Asian bites spent inside the restaurant’s Forbidden Lounge. The event runs from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 31. Tickets are $50… Kendra Lott from Edible Orlando celebrates the launch of his book Unique restaurants and eateries with dinner June 5 at the Tennessee Truffle in Sanford. The $70 ticket gets you a four-course meal with wine pairings, plus a signed copy of the book… bitten night, the great gastronomic event celebrating Orlando Weeklyit’s COCK magazine and Dick30, will take place on June 20 in the equally grandiose Orchid Garden & Ballroom.
