Marriott has expanded its portfolio of AC Hotels to Australia with the opening of the AC Hotel by Marriott Melbourne Southbank.

Located in one of Melbourne’s premier events, arts and entertainment districts, the new hotel offers 205 rooms and suites, a signature restaurant, infinity pool and cocktail bar with stunning views of the city rooftops.

“We are delighted to celebrate the arrival of the AC Hotels brand in Australia with the opening of AC Melbourne Southbank,” said Jeff Tomczek, AC Hotels Vice President and Global Brand Leader. “Melbourne is Australia’s cultural and design capital, which makes for a seamless integration with AC Hotels, known for its focused design and obsession with detail. With the re-opening of the Australian border, we look forward to welcoming travelers with a distinctive experience that has been modified to deliver only the best of what customers really need.

Nestled in Melbourne’s prestigious downtown enclave of Southbank, with the Central Business District and South Wharf – Australia’s largest urban renewal project – on its doorstep, the hotel enjoys close proximity with public transport, South Melbourne Market, Melbourne Convention Centre, Arts District and other first class amenities.

AC Melbourne Southbank offers a range of F&B outlets and collaborative spaces, including the brand’s signature AC Lounge, a modern co-working space for creative daytime gatherings and a social hub offering European-style tapas the night.

The hotel offers a range of recreational facilities, including an outdoor infinity pool spanning the width of the building, a 24-hour fitness center, and meeting and event space designed to accommodate groups of different sizes.

“I am truly delighted to be opening the first AC hotel in Australia,” said Harry Singh, Managing Director of AC by Marriott Melbourne Southbank. “Working with DKO, we’ve brought the core elements of the AC design philosophy to life – every detail of the experience is meticulously thought out to create a seamless stay, right in the heart of the city known as Australia’s design capital. .”

Owned by Capital Alliance, the hotel is Marriott’s ninth property in Melbourne and the third new hotel to open in the Victorian capital in the last 12 months. The hotel was designed by DKO Architecture.
