A brand new West Coast Japanese restaurant is set to open soon in Vancouver. This is your first glimpse of Land & Sea, which is slated to open in South Kerrisdale in a few weeks.
The concept is brought to us by chef Kevin Lin and creative designer Steph Wan. The duo tell Dished Vancouver that patrons entering the 1864 W 57th Avenue restaurant can expect dishes inspired by traditional Japanese flavors and prepared using modern West Coast techniques.
Land & Sea’s address may sound familiar to you if you’re a pasta lover. It was once occupied by the cozy Italian joint Senova, which closed in 2019 after 14 years of operation.
In an effort to combine the best ingredients of the season and Lin’s experimental cooking style, we plan to dig into plates like flame-finished Ora King salmon soba, unagi risotto, Fraser Valley duck. with yakiniku sauce and vegan options like eggplant kabayaki donburi once this destination opens.
The Land & Sea menu features produce from local vendors such as Two Rivers Meats, Fanny Bay Oysters, Glorious Organics, Sky Harvest, and Ponderosa Mushrooms, to name a few.
“My food is mostly inspired by my travels around the world,” says Lin.
“Although Vancouver is my home, I have spent a lot of time abroad, working, traveling, eating and learning the unknown to broaden my way of cooking and seeing food. At Land & Sea, I would like to share this with my guests.
The 2,400 square foot restaurant has an open concept kitchen and bar where guests can grab a stool and sip a selection of Land & Sea’s carefully crafted wine program or opt for an off-the-menu drink. of original cocktails.
Land & Sea plans to open its doors smoothly on September 3, 2021. Note these calendars!
