A new sushi bar and Japanese restaurant has opened in downtown Greenville.
Konnichiwa, a new concept specializing in Japanese sushi, steak, seafood and more, has just opened its doors in the old Deli by Rick Erwin located at 101 Fall Park Drive.
The restaurant is the second physical location of Konnichiwa, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based concept that also operates smaller pop-up operations in the Carolinas.
Pronounced “kon-nee-chee-wah”, the word is a Japanese greeting, typically used from midday to early evening, which also doubles as a casual “hello” greeting.
Konnichiwa markets itself as a “contemporary” sushi establishment that pays homage to the classic Japanese tradition of sushi while expanding its reach to include more unique creations.
Diners can expect a menu that includes everything from yellowtail crudo to octopus, bacon-wrapped scallops to jalapeño poppers, soft-shell crab rolls to spring rolls, as well as more familiar dishes like rolls. tuna rolls, California rolls, rainbow rolls and more.
The extensive menu also includes ramen, habachi bowls, food platters, and seasonal items.
Konnichiwa is open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
