Japanese restaurant in Osaka closes near Fox River Mall

GRAND CHUTE – A local Japanese restaurant has quietly closed its doors.

Osaka Japanese Steak House and Sushi, at 4421 W. Wisconsin Ave., closed in late March. The restaurant, which served Japanese cuisine including sushi and hibachi, was located just north of the Fox River Mall.

A ‘closed’ sign appeared on the front door of the property earlier this month. After Osaka closed, his kitchen equipment and restaurant supplies were offered at auction by Hansen Auction Group. The auction – called the “Osaka Restaurant & Bar Retirement Auction” on Hansen’s website – ran from March 30 to April 13.

The restaurant’s phone number has been disconnected, but Osaka is still listed as open on Google and Facebook. Osaka’s Facebook page remains active, although the company hasn’t posted there recently.

The Osaka owners could not be reached for comment. Calls to the Neenah-based Hansen Auction Group were not immediately returned.

Osaka Japanese Steak House and Sushi was not affiliated with Osaka Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse and Sushi Bar, a restaurant chain in Florida.
