Campus Avengers at Disneyland Paris
As Disneyland Paris officially turns 30, a two-hour Imagineering panel was held as a retrospective of the park’s history and its future. Highlights include recent hits hailing from Paris like toy story earth, its Ratatouille ride, and its Quinjet concept that debuted at Disney’s California Adventure first. Disneyland Paris’ Avengers campus is set to open this year with similar features to the West Coast headquarters, including the Spider-Man Web Slingers attraction. New (rather) to the expansion is an Iron-Man rollercoaster which is a new skin for the Rock n’ Roller Coaster, which Imagineer Björn Heerwagen reviewed, as shown in the video below: “We have the chance to be able to walk into an existing attraction, Rock n’ Roll Coaster, and rename it Marvel. It’s going wonderfully. We have video, we have audio, we have Iron Man. The Iron Man figure is the first all-electric figure this park has seen, with 43 functions.
Imagineering legend Tony Baxter was also on hand and while talking about the history of Adventureland he noted that there was still plenty of room near the Indiana Jones Temple of Peril coaster. The Imagineers on the panel were quick to hint that there were ideas being discussed for this particular piece of land. (Hope this is Indiana Jones’ long-awaited dark turn.) The news portion of the panel ended with confirmation that the ground was broken on Frozen landing area.
